FirstService Residential is Hiring a Recreation Manager Near Newtown, PA

Job Overview:

The recreation coordinator is responsible for organizing and conducting a comprehensive program of recreational and seasonal activities for the residents of Newtown Grant.

These duties are performed under the direction of, and with close coordination with the master association property manager.

The recreation coordinator will oversee all events and programs. The recreation coordinator will run events as needed or arrange for qualified teachers and or instructors to run specific events. The needs and wants of the community are foremost in the planning of events. The recreation coordinator will keep track of the popularity of each event and modify and suggest new events as needed.

This is an application for part-time (16-24 hours a week including weekends) roles.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Writes the recreation center activities portion of the Newtown Grant Community Newsletter.
  • Writes a monthly recreation report to be given to the master board at their meetings
  • Issues and collects waiver forms from participants.
  • Collects and submits fees such as for the Newtown Grant Softball league.
  • Creates and distributes softball league schedule for regular season, make-up games and playoffs. Orders equipment for the softball league including bats, balls and scorecards. Arranges for officials, umpires and scorers and coordinates their compensation.
  • Schedules and attends coaches' meetings for Newtown Grant Softball league.
  • Purchase required equipment as needed, such as supplies for ping-pong, table hockey, pool table, softball field, tennis and basketball courts and supplies for events.
  • Installs and maintains equipment including tennis nets and center straps, basketball and volleyball nets as required
  • Conducts safety inspections of all equipment and site conditions
  • Answers and return phone calls regarding room rentals, the swimming pool, upcoming events, etc. Be on-site evenings and weekends as a presence in the recreation center
  • Inspect, repair or replace equipment located in the game room, field and courts
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs for all banquet room activities and groups
  • Administer first aid as required and know and follow all safety procedures, call the fire department and police as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping duties as needed and directed by management
  • Maintain accurate records of Association assets.

  • Conduct physical review of assets to confirm book records

    General Responsibilities

    Make daily inspection of grounds and facilities to address any vandalism or hazardous conditions and take appropriate action.

    Monitor grounds including parking areas, fields, courts and surrounding areas for inappropriate behavior and call the police if required.

    Facility Rental Responsibilities

    Coordinate rental bookings with homeowners. Collect all fees, set up room before events and break down room after event. Inspect banquet room before events to assure that all equipment is working properly and inspect after events for damage.

    Swimming Pool Season Duties

    Participate in pre-season pool readiness.

    Maintain in-season pool procedures.

    Participate in post- season pool break down as required.

    Coordinate with management and see to the daily smooth operation of the swimming pool.

    Ensure that all pool policies and procedures are being followed and provide a mature and authoritative back up to pool staff when situations arise.

    Inspect daily to make sure pool furniture is neatly laid out, wipe tables, when necessary, water plants when needed, makes sure the pool white board is up to date with pertinent information homeowners may need to know.

    Key Fob Duties

    Issue key fobs to new residents in accordance with procedures. Maintain an up to date fob inventory that associates each fob issued to a current Newtown Grant resident. Deactivate lost or stolen fobs in addition to fobs not returned by former residents.

$16.00
